2024-25 DWGHA Administrative Roles
The DWGHA Executive Committee is looking for individuals to fill the following open positions  for the upcoming hockey season. All Administrators are expected to attend Durham West committee meetings as requested reasonably by the Executive Committee and perform the following duties which include, but are not limited to the descriptions below:

Registrar - Paid position, non-voting member (experience with RAMP is an asset, but not mandatory) 

 

Under the guidance of the Director of Administration;

 

1) He/She shall be in charge of the registration process for DWGHA, appropriate documents for all players as required for official confirmation in accordance with the OWHA requirements, prepare the OWHA registration forms for House League and Rep teams, recommend to the Executive Committee, opening and closing registration dates for the season and keep up all registration numbers per division up to-date and available upon request by the Executive Committee 2) He/She shall accept requests and issue Permission to Tryout and Releases with appropriate signatures and maintain a tracking sheet for all requests for ‘Permission to Tryout’ and ‘Releases’

3) He/She may be a member of any sub-committee(s) as appointed to by the Executive Committee from time to time.


Head of Marketing - non-voting member

Under the guidance of the Director of Administration;
1) He/She shall be responsible for maintaining social media platforms such as Instagram

2) He/She shall be responsible for supporting the Executive Committee is maximizing advertising, brand awareness and growth opportunities
3) He/She may be a member of any sub-committee(s) as appointed to by the Executive Committee from time to time.

Head of Equipment and Clothing - non-voting member

Under the guidance of the Director of Coaching;

1) He/She shall be the liaison with all suppliers for Clothing, Jerseys and Equipment
2) He/She shall be responsible for the acquisition, issuing, inventory control and storage of DWGHA equipment

3) He/She may be a member of any sub-committee(s) as appointed to by the Executive Committee from time to time.


Head of Development (for Rep and House League programs) - non-voting member

Under the guidance of the Director of Coaching;

1) He/She shall be responsible for organizing player clinics
2) He/She shall be responsible for organizing initiation programs following Hockey Canada protocols
3) He/She shall be responsible for organizing coaching developmental opportunities
4) He/She shall be responsible for maintaining coaching development and reference materials
5) He/She may be a member of any sub-committee(s) as appointed to by the Executive Committee from time to time.

Junior House League Convenor - non-voting member

Under the guidance of the Director of Coaching;

1) He/She shall be responsible for organization of the total house league program (with support from committee members and the Executive Committee

2) He/She shall work in collaboration with the Director of Coaching to recruit coaches and staff of the house league teams
3) He/She may appoint a series of leads to support each age group
4) He/She will help organize house league activities such as Halloween, holiday parties, year end banquet with support from the Executive Committee and other committee members\
5) He/She may be a member of any sub-committee(s) as appointed to by the Executive Committee from time to time.

Advisory Board & Sub-Committee Members

DWGHA is currently looking for volunteers from our membership to take on ad hoc roles in advisory boards and sub-committees as required to support specific projects and or initiatives. These positions would work alongside other Committee Members, Administrators and the Executive Committee.
