Permission to Skate & Releases (Durham West Girls Hockey)

PrintPermission to Skate & Releases
Permission To Skate

It is OWHA policy that female players remain automatically tied to the OWHA association they were last registered with. This is the case for both house league and competitive players. Note: Player Releases or Permissions to Skate Forms are not required for movement to or from any Boys Hockey Association, as they are not part of the OWHA.

If trying out for this association or any other … a 'Permission to Skate' form must be filled out and signed by a designated executive member of the player's current association/team and presented to the association/team for which the player wishes to try out before she is allowed on the ice. Failure to comply will result in a minimum two (2) game suspension for the offending player and/or head coach.

  • To request a 'Permission to Skate' please click the button below to complete the form no later than April 12th, 2018, so that the form can be prepared and ready. PTS forms will be scanned and emailed to you.

  • No “Permission to Skate” forms may be used for the period between January 1st and two days after all the Provincial Championships for any teams during the current season.  [OWHA By-Law - Article Eight A(2)]

  • 1 form entry is required for every different Division/Level tryout you wish to attend along with proper dates.

    Example:

Request 1:  Association 1 - Atom AA Date April 11-13
    Request 2:  Association 1 - Atom A Date April 14-16
Request 3:  Association 2 - Atom AA Date April 12-14
    Request 4:  Association 2 - Atom A Date April 14-17

  • Note: 2018 Permission to Skate forms are valid as of 12:01 am on April 11, 2018. Requests will be responded to starting the week of March 26, 2018.
  • ALL PERMISSION TO SKATE REQUESTS WILL BE SENT VIA EMAIL ON APRIL 10, 2018.
