It is with a heavy heart that the DWGHA announces the passing of Past President, Don Fraser.
Don was part of the Durham West organization for many years. His daughters, Stephanie and Hilary, had the privilege to have their Dad coach them for many years with the Lightning.
The players who had the opportunity to play for Don were an extension of his family as well as their parents.
Along with being a coach, Don was a member of the executive committee as long as he was a coach,
fulfilling various roles throughout including being the President for many years, then finally,
as Past President, the role he currently held.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Jen and their daughters Stephanie and Hillary
and the rest of Don's family.

FRASER, Donald “Don” (Coach and Executive Member of DWGHA and former employee of PCL)
Lived the adventure to the fullest until his passing on January 21, 2016. Cherished husband and best friend of Jennifer for 28 years. Loving father of Stephanie (Allan) and Hilary. Don will be sadly missed by his father Jack (the late Nancy) and by his older brothers Dave (Helga) and Dennis (Laurie). Beloved son in law of Joan and Harold Mills and dear brother in law of Mike (Lisa). Memories and life lessons will forever be cherished in the hearts of Don’s nieces, nephews, family and friends. Don’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Lisa Mcvety, the warm staff of 4West at the Ajax-Pickering Hospital and Partners in Community Care. Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport)905-440-3595 on Sunday, January 24th from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00pm, and on Monday, January 25th from 6:00-7:00pm. A Service to Celebrate Don’s Life will be held on in the DeStefano Chapel on Monday, January 25th at 7:00pm. In memory of Don, donations may be made to Hearth Place or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
