Durham West Girls Hockey

On Sunday September 17th the U18AA team took part in the annual Pickering "Terry Fox Run". The team donated in excess of $500 and also took part in the opening ceremony. It's the 10th year the U18AA has participated in this event.  Joining us today was U13AA Coach Andrew Haynes with a group of his players, along with his daughter that plays with U18B. Andrew is an inspiration to all coaches and ran alongside the girls.  As always Durham West Lightning showed why we are a 1st class organization.

Congratulations to our U18A team for winning the Markham Starsfest tournament this weekend! After going 4-1 in round robin play with 12 goals for and 6 goals against, they advanced to the final with a chance to avenge their only loss to Kanata. An intense game ended up going to overtime where the team scored with time running out to win 2-1 and secure the banner.  Fantastic start to the season! Go Bolts!!

Tryouts for U22A for this coming season are as follows: Saturday September 9th 6:00 - 7:00 PM at O'Brien Sunday September 10th 8:00 - 9:30 PM at O'Brien 3rd tryout TBA $60 tryout card required which can be purchased at the first skate.
