When Sunnybrook Veterans Centre (home to over 400 WWII and Korean War veterans) were short Christmas cards for their residents, the players on PWB took matters into their own hands and put their goal scoring skills to work, this time in the form of making Christmas cards.  The girl's cards brought smiles to over 25 veterans.
Well done players, coaches and parents!

Players from Durham West Peewee B and Novice A, collected gently used Halloween costumes from their teammates and classmates from Michaelle Jean Public School, and dropped off 60+ Halloween Costumes for kids staying at Herizon House - a shelter for abused women and their children.  The costumes will be used at Halloween and in the imagination/play space after that.  Girls from PeeWee B added another 10 costumes tonight at practice to bring the total to 70!

On October 10th the DW PeeWee B team hosted their Pink the Rink game.  We would like to thank former Toronto Maple Leaf Rob Pearson, of Boyer Auto Group, for taking time to take pictures and sign autographs for the girls from both Durham West and Clarington as part of their voluntary admission fee.  We would also like to thank Pizza Pizza @ Valley Farm and Hwy 2, G & A Corporate Events Inc., Shannon Stewart, Ajax Firehouse Subs and Rapala Canada for their generous donations for our raffle.  The team raised much needed funds for Breast Cancer awareness.

Tonight our DW Peewee B girls did their part to help feed the needy by dropping off some much needed food to the Local Ajax Fire Stn # 2 Crew.   The Town is competing against Durham municipalities to see who can collect the MOST non-perishable food donations for Feed the Need Durham by September 17, 2019. The friendly competition between municipalities was initiated by the Town of Whitby. The goal is to help more than 6,000 people (38% children) get proper nutrition via food banks, soup kitchens and food programs each month.
